My dear Duncan

 I have by this [illegible]
written to the publishers
and told them to send you
the two copies of the “Clan Fingon”
Many thanks — I
also enclose my “Replies“ to
the claim of the Corry family
to the chieftainship. To which
they were never able to reply
again - one better I think was
published but it never shook
my position in any detail.
 

Is there any chance of
you being able to spare a
moment to come see us?
I fear not now. I returned
from my holidays on the
continent on Saturday and
I am expecting my
wife home from Scotland
in a day or two. Tell
Ellen I had a letter from the Colonial
Sec. of the Leeward Islands
in which he gives
further proofs about the [illegible]
Daniel MacKinnon of Antigua
who has always been the

bone of contention and there is
a deed of transfer there to him
dated 1695 of lands in
Antigua and speaking of other
lands he already possessed
in the island and describing him
as Surgeon.
I hope your mother is finally well
now. Wishing I might have seen you
believe me.
